Whimsy Stamps June Mini Release

Happy Monday Crafty Friends!

Today Whimsy Stamps has another fun mini release! And today I'll be showing you two new products, the Burst Background Rubber Stamp and the Super Dogs Clear Stamp Set! So fun! You can check out the rest of the new mini release HERE!

Check out the design teams inspiration!

My two cards below are both A2 sized top folding cards and basically created the same way.

The first card is the Super Dog card. I watercolored a rainbow on watercolor paper a few days before I made the card. Since it had ample time to dry I thought this would make a great card panel. I die cut the watercolored panel with the Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die then heat embossed the Burst Background stamp in white embossing powder and adhered it to the card panel using liquid glue. I die cut two clouds from the previously released Comic Burst A2 Die and a speech bubble from the Speech Bubble Die Set, then adhered everything to the card panel. The sentiments are from the Super Dog stamp set.

For my second card I die cut the card panel with the Wonky Stitched Rectangle die and then white heat embossed the Burst Background stamp on to it. I ink blended over the embossing with Picked Raspberry and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxides. The combination of the two inks created an orange which you can barely see. Then I adhered the panel to the cardbase with liquid glue. Just like the first card I die two clouds from the Comic Burst die. I used a butterfly from the Butterflies Clear Stamp stamp set and the sentiment from the Layered Peruvian Lily Clear Stamp. Then I adhered everything to the card panel.

I finished the cards by adding white highlights, shimmer, and clear acrylic bubbles. I love the way these cards came out and I especially love the backgrounds. The Burst Background Stamp will be fun to use on future projects.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a great week!

Be Festive | Whimsy Stamps | Mini Release

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I'm using the fun and festive Cute Cacti stamp set from the Whimsy Stamps April mini release! There is also a coordinating 6x6 paper pad called Festive Desert!  I think these would be great for Cinco de Mayo cards!

I started with my background first. I used #80 Neenah Solar White cardstock and ink blended a sky background using Distress Oxides in Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral, and Aged Mahogany. But in the end you really can't see the Aged Mahogany. Then I used another piece of Neenah and ink blended a ground with Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy Distress Oxides. Then I used the same Distress Oxide inks with a little water and a small paint brush and splattered the ink over the sky background and the ground. That is such a fun thing to do!

I die cut the sky background with the Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die and then used one of the Pierced Border Trio Dies to create my ground. For my banner I used green cardstock and and a piece of pattern paper from the new paper pack and die cut them with the smallest die from the Shaker Maker Banner Die Set. I kept the inner pieces of the flags and then I used the Wonky Stitched Rectangle die again to die cut them smaller and have the same matching stitching on them and for my ground.

I colored the images with Copic Markers. I used YG67, YG17, YG03, and YG21 for the Cacti. For the pots I used E18, E17, E13, R85, R83, R81, BG09, and BG57. For the flower YR24, YR23, and YR31.

To assemble the card I used #100 pound orange cardstock and trimmed it with my paper trimmer to an A2 sized card, 5.5x4.25
I wrapped a piece of thick twine around the background panel and attached the twine with Scotch tape on the back, and used foam tape to pop the panel up. I adhered the flags over the twine with foam dots.
I used a combination of liquid glue and foam tape for the ground and adhered those on top of the sky background. I did the same for the images and the Be Festive sentiment. The sentiment, the middle cacti and the cacti near the bottom of the card are adhered with liquid glue and the other two I used liquid glue and foam tape. I also tucked the top Cactus in the ground.

To finish the card I added white highlights with a Gelly Roll pen to the images and even though the card has stitching from the dies, I added white dash lines or faux stitching around the card and flags with the same white pen. I added shimmer with a shimmer pen, Glossy Accents and three large gold sequins with Stickles in the middle of them.

That was a long post, thanks for sticking with me and stopping by today!

Spring Bunnies | Whimsy Stamps April Release

Hello Crafty Friends!

I have another Easter card today! I'm using a lot of different stamps and die sets for this card. I'm using he new release Spring Bunnies, the Criss Cross Gingham Background stamp, the previously released die No-See All Seasons Tree Die, the Build a Basket die set and the sentiment and a ladybug from the Hoppy Spring stamp set! I really love everything used on this card and the All seasons die is so awesome to have in your collection, it can be used anytime or even on it's own! Whimsy Stamps basically just has the best stamps, I love this company!

I began my card by stamping my images on #80 Neenah Solar White cardstock with a Copic safe black ink, and die cut them out with the coordinating dies. I colored the images with Copic markers and then began all the die cutting, which is my favorite part next to Copic coloring. I swear I could sit and die cut all day!

I inked the edges of the tree and grass with distress inks and inked the card panel as well. I used the Criss Cross Gingham Background stamp to add texture to the Easter basket. I used Copic markers to add shading to the bunny in the basket and the bird in the tree.

I used liquid glue to adhere everything to the card panel and trimmed off anything that was over hanging on the card.
I heat embossed the sentiment Hoppy Easter on a black strip of cardstock and adhere it with liquid glue as well.

As a finishing touch I added white pearls and iridescent bubbles to the card along with shimmer from my Nuvo shimmer pen, white highlights with a Gelly Roll pen, and Glossy Accents. I really love the way this card turned out!

Hoppy Easter | Whimsy Stamps April Release

Hello everyone!
I hope you're all doing well and are busy crafting during this pandemic that's keeping us all homebound. I'm happy to have crafting as my outlet, especially during this stressful time. And I can't believe Easter is Sunday and my seventh wedding anniversary is also Sunday! We'll definitely be staying in, but we don't mind at all.

Now to my card. Like I said I can't believe Sunday is Easter, and I frantically gathered Easter cards I've made and mailed them today! But my card below and a few others will get mailed tomorrow. This one and the others will be for my grandchildren.

For the April release, Whimsy Stamps came out with a Nested Pierced Egg Die that I couldn't wait to use! I've use that today along with the new 6x6 paper pack Eggtra Bunnies and the previously released Easter stamp set Hoppy Easter!

I began my card by stamping the images with black Copic safe ink onto #80 Neenah Solar White cardstock. I colored the images with Copic markers and use the coordinating dies to die cut them out. I die cut the largest egg from the Nested Pierced Egg die also with Neenah Solar White cardstock.

For the egg I used distress oxides and post it making tape to create a rainbow. I die cut a piece of fun foam with the same egg die to place behind the rainbow egg to give it dimension. Then die cut one of the paper patterns from the Eggtra Bunnies paper pack with a rectangle die from my stash and used liquid glue to adhere it to a lavender A2 sized top folding card base. I adhered the rainbow egg with Scor Tape and centered it on my card, then used liquid glue to adhere the bunny, egg and sentiment Hoppy Easter which I heat embossed.

To finish the card I added white highlights to the colored images, iridescent bubbles, and jelly bean enamel shapes around the card.

I love the way this card turned out, and I especially love the rainbow egg!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Giraffe 2 Slimline Card | Whimsy Stamps

Hello crafty friends!

Today I have another giraffe card from the Giraffe 2 stamp set and the Slimeline Window die to create a slimline card!

To begin my card I started by cutting a piece of #80 Neenah cardstock to 8.75x3.5. I inked the panel with Scattered Straw Distressed Oxide Ink, then placed the Giraffe Stencil on top of the inked panel and inked the panel again with Rusty Hinge Distressed Oxide Ink. Then cut the panel with the Slimline Window die. I popped up the positive piece of the panel with foam tape onto my card base then used liquid glue to place the negative pieces in like puzzle pieces matching the giraffe dots.

Next I inked my images with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Neenah #80 cardstock and began coloring with Copic markers.  I trimmed the images out with my Brother Scan n Cut machine and adhered them with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape. I heat embossed the sentiment Hello There on black cardstock and trimmed it out with my paper trimmer and used foam tape to pop it up on my card. To finish my card I used the Nuvo Shimmer pen for some shimmer, added matching enamel dots and a white gel pen.

And that's my card for today, I hope you enjoyed!

Giraffe 2 | Whimsy Stamps New Releasse

Hello and Happy Monday Crafty Friends!

Today I'm sharing a card using the new release stamp set Giraffe 2, along with the new Giraffe stencil and previously released Swiss Dots A2 Die.

I began with an A2 sized panel of Neenah Solar White #80 cardstock. I ink blended the entire panel with my lightest color, Scattered Straw Distress Oxide. Then I placed the Giraffe stencil on top and ink blended over the Scattered Straw with Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide. I thought these were the perfect giraffe colors. My next step, I die cut the panel with the Swiss Dots A2 die. I used an an A2 sized top folding note card and popped up the die cut piece with foam tape. I used liquid glue to adhere the negative pieces into the circles like puzzle pieces.

I used another A2 sized panel of Neenah Solar White #80 cardstock and stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored them using Copic markers and trimmed them out with my Brother Scan and Cut machine. I arranged the images on the panel and adhered them down with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape. I added a little shimmer with my Nuvo Shimmer Pen, added enamel dots and white gel pen highlights for interest. I heat embossed the sentiment on black cardstock, trimmed it down with a paper trimmer and popped it up with foam tape. I love the dimension on this card!

I had an extra colored giraffe so I adhered him with liquid glue on the inside of my card and stamped the sentiment "I really miss you" next to him. And that finished my card. I love decorating the inside of my cards, it's just a nice finishing touch to me.

Copics Used:
