{Clean and Simple } CASology #202 – Masculine | Father's Day Deer Card

Hello everyone, today is my first time participating in the CASology Cue Card Challenge! Yay, so knowing guys do not like things too flashly, I was inspired today to create a Father's Day card for my husband from me. The reason I say that is he married into a ready made family. I have four children, and when we met two were still living at home. So he took on the role as a dad without skipping a beat! So inside the card I wrote him a little letter thanking him for all he has done as still does as a dad, and now as a grandfather!

Week 202 - Masculine

Here is my card, he loves to hunt and be outdoors, so this worked out great.
I used Kraft cardstock for the card base, watercolor paper for the top panel. I stamped the deer heed with Brushed Corduroy distress ink and added a mist of water, this gave the deer a water color look without actually painting, solid stamps are perfect for this technique. I made similar cards like this last Christmas. The top panel is pop up with dimensionals, and I also added a plastic paper clip for a little something extra. This card was so super simple to make, and very enjoyable!

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Lori

  1. Lori, this is a perfect masculine design! Love how you personalized it for your hubby! The kraft cardstock is so appropriate for a guy, isn't it? I always forget about that, but you've reminded me to go dig some out again! :)
