DoubleClick Skittles Challenge #38 | Something New

Welcome to week #38 of the

This week the theme is Something New!

I have been waiting for my new stamp set to come for this week's project, but it hasn't made it here. But I have new chalk inks to share from Brutus Monroe that I have been wanting to try. The main thing with these chalks are, you must use good quality paper!
The inks really work nice on the Neenah Solar White cardstock and the X-Press It Blending Card, which has a smooth shiny feel.

For my card I went with the Neenah cardstock. I used the colors Phonebook, Cabbage, Aubergine, and Oz for the little envelopes.
I used the Oz and watercolored the coffee mug, and finished the coloring with Tombow markers. The sentiment was stamped with Versa Fine Black Onyx, heart it!

To accent the card I used three of the Gift Gold Skittles, which looks to match well. And so I must give credit where credit is due. I watched Dana Joy make a very similar card on Periscope and I thought it would be nice to make a card as well for our mail carrier.

I also decorated the envelope she will be receiving her card in with a stamp sentiment, baker's twine, and Red Rudolf Skittles.
Inside of the card I wrote her a note and there is a gift card to Starbuck's. I hope she loves it!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
