DoubleClick Skittles Challenge #34 | Furry Friends

Hi everyone, I'm back today guest designing for the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge. I am having a really good time here being a guest designer! This week our theme is Furry Friends.
So many things came to mind when I found out the theme.
But I know I needed to a make sympathy card for my sister. Her fur baby Cookie had to cross the rainbow bridge last week. She was a ten year old Shitzu who had recently been diagnosed with cancer. The vet was unable to remove all the tumors, and Cookie was having seizures weekly, and sometimes daily. Very difficult thing to do and go through with those beloved fur babies. They are our family, kids, and they love us as much as we love them!

This is the only picture I could find of Cookie from 2011.

Now on with today's Furry Friends card I made.
I started by getting all my cardstock, paper, and ink together and coordinated. I made a background with paw prints and hearts from Newton's Nook called Newton's Antics, the ink is a grey color called Seattle from A Muse Studio, cardstock and paper from MFT Stamps and the fun part is the strawberry Skittles from DoubleClick Connections. The Skittles really brought the card out, it gave it the finishing touch it needed. Isn't that a beautiful color? I also colored in the hearts with my pink Tombow Marker #703.

At first I thought the background was going to look too busy. I think it's so adorable!

Come join the fun at the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge and see what the DT has created. Create a project following the theme Furry Friends, add your Skittles to your project. If you don't have any Skittles, you can still play along.
Also Carri always has a fantastic prize to giveaway!

Here's the latest release of Skittles called Witches Brew in green, purple, and orange.

I hope you enjoyed my card even though it was on the sad side. Thanks for stopping by and I heart comments! I can't wait to see what everyone has created!

She is darling and I am sure your card will be comforting even though it is a tough time for her. We lost our dog a few years back and we still miss him each day:(
