March Stamp of The Month | Monthly Stamp Club Blog Hop

The March Stamp of The Month is this super cute Hippo!

To begin my card I started with my background using a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock. I chose the Bristol Smooth cardstock because it is so easy to blend inks. Today I used used Salty Ocean Distress Oxide to blend the background and Blueprint Sketch for ink splatters. 

Then I colored the hippo with Copic markers. I wanted him to have balloons attached to his sign to draw attention to him, so I pulled out the Birthday Bears stamp set. Those balloons were perfect, plus the sentiment went well too! I just had to do a little masking to get the sentiment on the sign. Then I cut a little notch in the top of sign to hide the balloon string and later added twine, maybe that part wan't needed after all. :)

I used a scrap piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and ink blended Luck Clover Distress Oxide, and die cut it out with a grass die. I trimmed the panel down with a rectangle die and also trimmed the grass with the same rectangle die so the edges would match. I adhered the grass to the panel with Brutus Monroe craft glue and then adhered the panel to an A2 sized 4.85 x 5.5 sized note card with the same glue. 

I popped the hippo and balloons up on with foam tape for dimension and added Wink of Stella and Stickles to the balloons. I added Cotton Candy Bottle Cap Sequins to the card for interest and Stickles on the sequins for more sparkle!
